Athletics: Review for 2010/11

Athletics

The athletics season proved to be a great success as the boys competed in four matches at various age levels against New Beacon, Hawthorns, St Michael’s, Hilden Grange and Hazelwood.

At Junior level there is real talent with James Barry (Year Three) and Matthew Rackliffe (Year Four) looking unbeatable over the shorter distances.  Matthew Roughton-Smith and Drew Beazleigh (Year Three) and Tom Pincott (Year Four) proved their worth over the longer distances.  Alex Freeman, Max Irvine and Jack Lewis (Year Four) also produced performances of note.  Will Tyler (Year Three) proved he could turn his hand to any event and is a real star of the future.

In Year Five, Miles Christian and Seb Terry proved to be the best athletes and produced some strong performances throughout the season.

The IAPS county trials allowed the older boys the chance to show their skills and Yardley Court enjoyed a magnificent day, despite shocking weather, as it rained medals on a great day of athletics.

All of the boys competed magnificently with the following winning medals ...
