DL triumph at the Dobson Trophy Run
14th November 2014

“Excellent cross country conditions” really means “very, VERY muddy” – and this was certainly the case at Claremont Prep School for the Dobson Trophy races on Friday 14th November.  But we were prepared, having tackled the hills in the parkland in the driving rain for the last couple of weeks in cross-country club! The girls ran fantastically well, and every single one put in an outstanding effort. The result was a medal for everyone, as the DL U9 team and the U11 team were winners. Not only that, we had individual medals too. Sophie Slack was 1st in the U9 race, and her sister Lily came in 3rd after a superb final sprint. The rest of the U9 team were close behind; Darcy Rook was 8th, Sophie Watkins 10th and Ottilie McArdle Hodge 12th. Maisy Smith won the U11 race very convincingly, and again the DL girls came home close together; Lucy Hudson 5th, Sophie Preston 7th, Scarlett Bonner-Leney 10th and Milly Scott 11th. Another brilliant afternoon of cross-country running from the DL girls; thrilling to watch. Yet again, Mrs M is very proud! Although I suspect the minibus may need cleaning next week ... there was mud EVERYWHERE! Please see Mr Shute’s photos on the website.
