Top of the League
10th December 2014

Tuesday the 10th of December saw three teams from The Schools at Somerhill head to Canterbury for the First Lego League Kent and Medway finals.

The teams competed in four disciplines: innovative project based on year’s theme; technical interview; team work challenge and the robotic competition.

Telekinetic got off to a superb start in the robotic challenge and were first after two rounds with a super score of 110 points. All three Somerhill teams made it through to the quarter finals, with Legocation going through to the semi-finals.  They were extremely consistent throughout the tournament on the robotics board.

All our teams did incredibly well in their project presentations, technical interviews and robot missions and Legoneers came out on top for team work and Telekinetic for the project presentation.

It was a very successful day and we are keen to build on this year’s achievements as we start thinking of the 2015 season.

It should also be noted that our Year Eight Joe Payne who is member of team ‘Gear Crackers’ won the robotics challenge scoring the most points in the final round, his team consisted of three other ex Somerhill pupils.
