We Remember
11th November 2015

Our pupils and staff from Years 2 to 8 gathered together this morning to express their gratitude and respect for members of the armed forces who have lost their lives in conflict.

Our Remembrance Service is especially close to our hearts as we think of the boys and masters from Yardley Court who fought to defend our freedom.

We pray today for all who suffer as a result of conflict, and ask that God give us peace.

For the service men and women who have died in the violence of war, each one remembered and known to God.
For all members of the armed forces who are in danger this day, remembering family, friends and all who hope for their safe return.
For women, children and men worldwide whose lives are affected by war or terror, who suffer because of the anger and hatred humanity can inflict upon itself.
For those who bear the privilege and burden of leadership, political, military and religious, who need wisdom and resolve in the search for peace.
God of truth and justice, we hold before you those whose memory we cherish, and those whose names we will never know.
As we honour the past, may we put our faith in your future; for you are the source of life and hope, now and for ever.
God, give us peace.
