National XC Champions!
14th March 2016

On a glorious day in the Malvern hills, 1200 competitors from over 80 schools gathered for the National Cross Country Championships 2016.

Yardley Court U13s were outstanding. Fin Croll and James Mardon 5th and 6th. Josh O’Brien 8th (with an injury) and Tom Rigney 9th. Ollie Hill was 18th and Will Tyler shortly after him. In that quality of field to have four in the top ten was incredible.

Yardley Court are U13 Cross Country National Champions!

Yardley Court U11s ran well. Ollie Croll turned his ankle and had to withdraw. He was in 4th at the time and running really well. This would have made a big difference to our final score, so we knew that second was on the cards. Marcus Cook, Oshi Hamilton, Freddie Nicholson, Fraser Page and Angus Hall, gave it everything they had and represented YC very well.

Derwent Lodge ran a superb race. Sophie came in 7th, with Lily 8th and Sara, Kitty and Mimi well up in a field of 300.

Derwent Lodge finished 4th nationally out of 30 schools. A fantastic result.

Super running from all. Wonderful to see our boys and girls cheering each other on and having a really fun day out!‚Äč
