Sevenoaks Netball Tournament
5th February 2018

Derwent Lodge U11 A’s were victorious at the Sevenoaks School netball tournament hosted at the Sennocke Centre, beating seven other prep schools to the title. The girls began the day unbeaten and it's fair to say nerves meant the first game against Walthamstow Hall was a little closer than we would have liked (6-3 win). After getting into their stride with an 11-2 win over Sutton Valence, the girls romped to a 20-0 victory in their last group game against Russell House.

The results placed the team top of their group and through to the final playoff against St Michael’s. The girls held their nerve and continued to play some outstanding and free-flowing netball securing a 8-4 win and a place in the final. We went into the final with very little knowledge of Hurst having not played them before but a turnover from their first centre pass was swiftly converted by the DL shooters and there was no stopping us! The girls saved their best netball for the final and deserved the 15-3 win to clinch the title.

The DL team played netball far beyond their years, showing skill and tactical knowledge that rightly impressed the staff and senior players from Sevenoaks. The girls are a pleasure to coach and Miss K-S is so proud of how they conducted themselves throughout the tournament. Huge congratulations to Amber, Eva, Beatrice, Bella, Kayla, Hettie, Lily and Ella.
