DL race ducks at Horton Kirby!
25th September 2013

Derwent Lodge’s geography field studies were done under the guise of rubber duck races in the river! Year Six’s topic this term got off to a great start with a day at Horton Kirby where they had a brilliant time sploshing about in the River Darent in their wellies. They measured the flow of the river at different sites and discussing what features of the river would cause differences in the velocity at different points, gathering important data that will form the basis of their geography and ICT work for the next few weeks. It was a perfect outing  weather-wise and the whole day was lots of fun … as well as very educational, of course.

And Mrs Michau’s favourite thing about the trip? Lots of very cute rubber duckies !!
