Cross Country
This was the probably the most successful cross country season on record for Yardley Court making the cancellation of our own Bracken Cup because of the poor weather even more frustrating than normal. The team was led by a fantastic senior team that included Tim Faes, Chris Adam, George Forbes Nixon and Robert Miles. There were also strong performers throughout the school with David Wilkinson, Harry Rees, Freddy Brewer and Miles Christian standing out. The role of honour reads as follows:
• YC boys won the Thomas Trophy for the first time, with an individual win for Tim Faes
• YC boys had a clean sweep at the Hazelwood Relays – winning all three age groups and the overall trophy
• In the IAPS District Cross Country Championships, YC won the Under 11 and Under 13 boys’ trophies, with individual wins for Miles Christian and Tim Faes.
• YC came second to Parkside in the Junior Knole Run, against 41 teams from across the South East, beating all our local rivals
• Somerhill won the Rawlinson Run at Dulwich Prep for the second year in a row, with a winning trophy for the Year 4 boys as well
• Somerhill won the WKCCL.
This represents a fantastic effort boys, well done!
