Getting to Somerhill is easier than you think…

Our minibus service is available for children in Year 1 and above. It is a very popular mode of transport for Somerhill pupils, and our current routes cover Tunbridge Wells, Southborough, Mereworth, Hadlow, Kings Hill, Horsmonden, Brenchley, Matfield, Ightham, Sevenoaks, Hildenborough, Langton Green and Speldhurst. However, our routes are regularly updated and changed to align with our families' needs.

At Somerhill, we partner with Vectare, a specialist school transport software company, to enhance our transport offering. Parents can access a bespoke ‘minibus portal’ and associated app allowing them to view bookings as well as access other features such as tracking and marking children as not travelling on a particular day.

  • Pre-prep children wishing to take the afternoon bus can stay on after the end of the school day and be looked after in clubs and/or after-school care. There is no charge for after-school care in this case.

    Pre-prep children are collected and escorted from the bus in the mornings and collected from their clubs or after-school care and escorted to the afternoon bus.

    Prep pupils in Years 3 and 4 taking the school bus are supervised from 4.00pm until the end of the school day.

    The pick-up and drop-off points and times change depending on demand each year.

    All drivers are DBS checked and have undertaken Kent County Council’s Minibus Awareness Course.
