Why choose Somerhill?
At Somerhill, we pride ourselves on growing amazing people. We foster an outstanding learning environment where children can discover, learn and grow. We are academically ambitious and have high expectations of our pupils - we send more children to grammar schools than any other school in the area. However, we firmly believe that children truly thrive when they are happy and excited to attend school each day. With over 100 extra-curricular clubs and activities and 480 music ensembles and lessons each week, alongside more than 600 sports fixtures a year and outstanding art studios, engineering and science labs and outdoor spaces, opportunities at Somerhill really are endless.
Academically ambitious
We are proud of our pupils’ academic achievements. We have very bright and capable pupils and send more children to grammar school each year than any other local school. Destinations include Tonbridge Grammar School, The Judd School, and The Skinners’ School. Many pupils are awarded scholarships at independent schools such as Tonbridge School, Sevenoaks School, Walthamstow Hall and Sutton Valence School at 11+/13+.
Pastorally focused
We approach the well-being of our pupils in a positive way, and all our staff reinforce the Somerhill philosophy and ethos. Our children feel happy and secure and look forward to coming to school each day. Our well-being team ranges from our Pastoral Deputy Head to our team of Mental Health Ambassadors - we even have a school well-being dog, Reggie!
A flagship school for PSB
As a flagship school for the PSB programme, Somerhill champions a skills-based approach to learning that fosters curiosity, self-awareness, and personal growth. The PSB framework develops six core areas: leadership, collaboration, independence, thinking, reviewing, and communication, preparing pupils for senior school and beyond, while reflecting our vision of a well-rounded education.
Endless opportunities
At Somerhill, every child is encouraged to explore and grow through a wealth of opportunities, from specialist teaching in sport, music, drama, and the arts to adventures in our stunning 150-acre grounds. Value for money
Somerhill offers exceptional value for money by combining academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care, and a rich co-curricular programme - all within a stunning countryside setting. With specialist teaching from an early age, small class sizes, and access to excellent facilities, pupils receive a well-rounded education that nurtures both academic achievement and character development. Families benefit from our unique ‘best of both worlds’ education, with single-sex classroom learning and a co-educational environment under one roof.

It is a model that nurtures confidence, collaboration, and mutual respect - preparing children for the real world by helping them thrive academically and socially.
