It was a joy to see how well all the children managed their transition back to school for their first week after lockdown.

In SPP the worry monsters gobbled up little concerns, (although he was still rather hungry as there weren’t enough to feed him properly)! Coloured mood jars allowed the children to talk about their feelings. Play was a priority as is a key tool for our children to reintegrate as they coordinate their ideas and feelings, make sense of the world around them and reconnect
with their friends.

The physical connectedness of children with each other and their environment (trees/climbing frames/hoops etc), cannot be obtained from the digital world, however amazing that teccy fast-paced world is! That has been what Somerhill has been able to provide for the children on their return and what has made it so joyous.
