Pre-Prep
Curriculum

Pre-Prep is where children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 move away from the early years foundation stage (EYFS) curriculum and begin taking national curriculum subjects.

We use a creative curriculum approach, which means pupils learn through creative and active teaching strategies. We encourage children to make links between subjects and themes, and we work in a joined-up way across English, science, geography, history, computing, art and design and technology.

There are currently three Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes in Pre-Prep, each with a class teacher and a teaching assistant. We also have specialist teachers for swimming and PE, woodland, music, French and art.

We allow lots of time for settling in when pupils join Pre-Prep before we get started on the full timetable.

For more information about the Pre-Prep curriculum and example timetables, see our curriculum guide.
