At Somerhill we want our pupils to develop academically, but most of all we give them space to be themselves, enjoy their childhood and fulfil their individual potential. Our aim is to grow amazing people, and we support our pupils in being happy, confident and able to make a positive contribution to our school and the wider world.
With our outstanding grounds and sports facilities, there is plenty of opportunity for children at Somerhill to develop their physical health, but mental health and self-esteem are just as important. Everybody looks out for each other. We have a buddy system where older pupils guide and advise younger ones, and all our pupils have a strong bond with their form teachers. We also have a school counsellor who works weekly with pupils who have particular pastoral care needs. All this means there is always someone to talk to.
