Derwent Lodge offers many opportunities for girls to participate in a wide variety of sports, including cricket, netball, hockey, cross-country, athletics, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, judo, triathlon and aquathlon. As well as promoting physical development, sport at Derwent Lodge encourages and inspires teamwork, resilience and confidence.
Our comprehensive sports programme makes use of the schools’ excellent facilities which include a 25m heated indoor swimming pool, cricket pitches/nets, running track, astro-turf and netball/tennis courts, zip wire and our multi-purpose indoor sports hall.
Pupils have frequent success at IAPS competitions across all sports. The school has an enviable reputation in cross-country with our extensive grounds used to host regional cross-country events for boys and girls. Recent cross-country success includes the National Prep Schools Cross Country Champions at U11 and U13 and previous individual Kent County Champions.
We hope to provide every girl with a fun sporting experience at an appropriate level for their ability and age. All participation is celebrated equally and there are opportunities to be part of many different teams, all of which have match practice (with the all-important match teas!).
