We were pleased to host the Regional Final of Formula 1 in Schools, primary class. For five teams, this was something they had been working towards since the start of the year. Engineering lessons in Year 6 focus from the very start of the year on designing and building a F1-style car, before competing in the school race day. The five fastest teams then had a chance to develop their car further, creating a team brand, finding sponsorship, creating a presentation and portfolio of their work and a pit display.

Along with teams from other schools, they competed for the title of Regional Champions and a place in the national final. We were lucky enough to win six trophies, including best-engineered car, fastest car, brand image award and the title of Regional Champions.
